A Message from Jhos and Julie

jhos-and-julieDear Chevra,

With deep gratitude for all we have shared as a community, we are writing to officially announce that we have accepted the position of the new Spiritual and Community Leaders of Chochmat HaLev in Berkeley.

As we share this news, our hearts are both heavy and full. We are excited at the prospect of leading a congregation so close to home and, at the same time, we are feeling the grief of leaving CJC. We have been a part of CJC– and CJC has been a part of us — for so long! We’ve seen the congregation through lifecycles and holy days; through the ups and downs of life….and CJC has seen us through some pretty major transitions as well!

We thank each and every one of you for allowing us the privilege of serving as your spiritual leaders, for sharing your spiritual journeys with us, and for letting us be a part of your lives. We are confident that this next phase of CJC’s growth will be met with the same connected, committed, creative, and resilient spirit that has been the hallmark of CJC from its founding.

We look forward to seeing you at our High Holy Day services as well as the remaining Shabbat and holiday celebrations that we are scheduled to lead between now and mid-November. We hope to connect personally with as many of you as possible to tell you how much our time as your clergy has meant to us. We especially hope you can be a part of our final event with CJC: a farewell gathering on Saturday, November 15 (afternoon through sunset, on the Coast…details to follow in the Update).

May the new year be filled with a sense of possibilities and renewal…with good health and sweetness…and with blessings of deep appreciation and love.

B’virkat shalom/
with blessings of peace,
Julie & Jhos
